My journey began in the beautiful city of Shiraz, known for flowers and poetry. Come with me as I explore my first Persian city as a female alone - the food, the architecture, the markets of the bazaar, but mostly, the people. I stayed in the magical Darbe Shazdeh boutique hotel, where I met an inspiring couple from London, travelling Iran with their children as a family. I also became friends with Faranak, the owner of the hotel, who gave me fascinating insight into life as a woman, business owner and advocate of tourism to Iran. I hope you enjoy this travelogue.
